Tinnitus Treatments
When considering treatments for tinnitus, it can often be difficult to separate fact from fiction. On the internet you will find a multitude of claims and counter-claims as to the effectiveness of one tinnitus treatment over another. This makes it difficult to know which options are worth considering and which aren’t.
As a general rule, tried-and-tested therapies will be supported by independent clinical analysis and research data to support the claims of the supplier or manufacturer. These treatments are referred to as ‘evidence-based’ therapies.
Two of the most widely recognised treatments for the management of tinnitus, amongst hearing and tinnitus professionals, are Sound Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
If your audiologist feels that you would benefit from tinnitus treatments based the results of your tinnitus assessment, they will recommend the most suitable treatment options.
